Duke Energy’s Cayuga Station is, rated for a full-load sustained output of more than 1,000 megawatts, is located just five miles away, and there is an onsite substation at the park. A new substation will also be constructed adjacent to the park in 2017 ensuring that even the most demanding energy needs are met now and well into the future at Vermillion Rise.
Food processors and beverage makers will also find more than enough natural gas supplies to meet their needs. Panhandle Eastern delivers natural gas to the site through a 4-inch diameter pipeline capable of serving the needs of heavy industry. Additional supplies are also accessible from the Rockies Express Pipeline located adjacent to the site, which is available for businesses at the park to connect with if needed.
